Schwandner Law Firm wins $350,000 jury verdict over retaining wall.

Cincinnati, Ohio construction attorney Nick Schwandner won a $350,000 jury verdict over a defectively constructed retaining wall.  Schwandner Law Firm’s clients were the owners of the property.  The defendant was the contractor who constructed the defective retaining wall.

Retaining walls failing and requiring repairs or replacement are fairly common in Cincinnati due to the hilly topography and soil conditions in the area.  When retaining walls fail, the cost to correct the situation can easily exceed the original installation price.

In this case, the firm proved that the original retaining wall was insufficient from the start and had failed.  The scope of work to replace the wall as well as the cost of the replacement work was also proven.  Ultimately, Schwandner Law Firm obtained a jury verdict for the full cost to replace the retaining wall with a new properly designed wall.
